In order to ensure the quality of the metal alloy ingots and prolong the service life of the melting furnace as much as possible, all preparations for the melting furnace must be done in the actual production process, including furnace loading, oven drying, furnace washing, furnace cleaning, stirring, and slag removal. and refining operations.

1. Furnace installation

During smelting, the order and method of charging the charge are related to the smelting time, metal burning loss, energy consumption, and also affect the quality of the melt and the service life of the furnace. The principles of furnace loading are as follows:

(1) The charging sequence should be reasonable, and the melting speed of the material should also be considered according to the nature and state of the charged charge;

(2) Small or thin scraps are loaded first, aluminum ingots and large pieces are loaded in the middle, and intermediate alloys are loaded last;

(3) The master alloy with low melting point and easy oxidation is installed in the lower layer, and the master alloy with high melting point is installed on the top. The high temperature in the upper part of the furnace is conducive to full melting and diffusion, so that the distribution of the master alloy is uniform, which is conducive to composition control;

(4) The added charge is evenly distributed in the molten pool, and the melting speed is consistent to prevent overheating of the metal due to overweight;

(5) The charge is fed into the furnace at one time as much as possible, and multiple additions will increase the inhalation of the melt;

(6) When charging the electric furnace, pay attention to the safe distance between the highest point of the charge and the heater on the top of the furnace to prevent electric shock and damage to the heating facilities.
